Our Spanish Programme
Arbor and Rosewood schools have a rich Spanish programme. Because of our proximity to Latin America and the global nature of our world, we believe that our students will have the competitive edge by giving them the benefit of fluency in Spanish.
All our Spanish assistant teachers are native Spanish speakers to ensure proper pronunciation and expression. Communication between them and the student is strictly in Spanish.
In Arbor, our Preschool and Kindergarten, the children learn Spanish aurally in a natural way through conversation with the Spanish assistants and theme-based learning as a centre of interest. The bilingual teaching is centered on themes which are familiar to the students and are gradually extended to the world around them. The advantage of having some native Spanish speaking students enrolled in our schools further enhances the learning of a second language.
At Rosewood, the programme fosters natural language learning while providing the key skills needed to become proficient in the Spanish; listening, speaking, reading, writing, and language usage.
Spanish is taught both through the subjects and as a subject.

Spanish Showcase
Every other year we present a Spanish Showcase.
For two weeks the students have the opportunity to explore the places, traditional dress, music, cuisine and culture of selected countries, culminating in a presentation for parents and invited guests.
The combination of these various activities provides our students with a wealth of insight into the richness of Hispanic culture and its influence in the world.
